Tamalpais Brass (pronounced TAM-əl-PY-iss) sounds like the beautiful mountain in Marin County, California that is our namesake: wondrous and enticing, elusive but calming, grounding and soaring. We are a brass quintet that pushes the limits of our abilities, and we like to bring our audiences along for the ride. Since our founding in 2011, we have kept focus on our goal of always presenting the best brass music we can find. Tamalpais Brass is Graham Taylor & Alia Kuhnert, trumpets; Alison Sawyer, horn; Andy Strain, trombone; Jonathan Seiberlich, tuba.

Recent performances include the Glenview Classical Series in Oakland, CA, Mendocino’s “Opus” Chamber Series, the “Candlelight Series” at St. Mary’s Episcopal in San Francisco, the “Covenant Series” in Palo Alto, and as a featured artist with the Fremont Symphony and Berkeley Repertory Theater. Tamalpais Brass has studied in Sweden for multiple summers with the Stockholm Chamber Brass.
